Mamie and Ira Jordan Minority Music Scholarship Fund and Scholastic Achievement Award

Awarded to: Student of color who is an applicant to the music program. (Established July 1998) Background: The scholarship was established by concert pianist and professor of piano at SUNY Fredonia Robert Jordan, to honor the memory of his late parents and to provide scholarship assistance and support to African American students wishing to pursue musical studies at Fredonia - or - for African American students already at Fredonia in any discipline who have already achieved excellence in their chosen area of study. It is important to note that this scholarship was the first at SUNY Fredonia for African American students.

Contributions may be made through the SUNY Fredonia College Foundation website. The Mamie and Ira Jordan Scholarship is listed under the scholarship category "School of Music"
